

Candice the Writer
Candice Helfand-Rogers is an accomplished writer and editor with decades of hands-on experience crafting thought-provoking, mature and timely works for numerous, highly regarded online news organizations. She presently works at The Story Exchange, an award-winning nonprofit newsroom that elevates women’s work, voices and concerns. Prior to that, she was a journalist and manager whose work has been featured on some of the largest news sites in the country, including CBS Local News, The 19th, Forbes and The Star-Ledger. She has successfully delivered in both tense breaking-news situations and months-long reporting processes; writing individual profiles and sweeping social commentaries; crafting hard-news features and relevant op-eds. In recent years, she has delivered sermons and coordinated entire social-justice-minded services at the First Unitarian Congregational Society in Brooklyn. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Journalism & Media Studies (with a minor in Music) at Rutgers University.
